No. 3 has come down with Strep Throat again. She is okay, but may need to get her tonsils out.
Last night at about 11:30, I’m battling my Physics homework when No. 2 comes up to me asking where the thermometer is. I told him where, and that he should rinse it off, and wipe it with rubbing alcohol before he uses it. I also told him that he has the shake it down, and leave it under his tongue for 5 minutes. Standard operating procedure.
Five minutes passes, and he walks over to me, twisting the thermometer under the light trying to read it. He hasn’t figured that trick out yet. So he hand it to me and I look at it.
108 degrees.
I smiled, looked at him, put my hand on his forehead; cool as a cucumber.
“What’s it say Dad?”
“108 degrees” I replied.
“What’s that mean?”
“It means that you are unconscious, and having convulsions, or something happened to the thermometer.” I said with a sarcastic smirk on my face.
Then he says, “Well, I didn’t run it under hot water…”
I looked back up at him and said, “Nobody said you did…”
At that point he realized that he was busted. He smiled, and went to bed.
