9:00 am One of the drawbacks of working for a growing company is the construction. No.3 had strep this week, and I thought I was getting it. It turns out that whenever I leave the office I start to feel better. I talked to a co-worker this morning, and he said that he has been having the same problem. I had a doctor’s appointment this afternoon, but I’m going to cancel it. All day long for the last 2 weeks there has been nothing but dust, power tools, and pounding. Finally, they have all the new walls up. I may not have mentioned this, but I had to move offices again for the fourth time in the 18 months I’ve worked here. I’m still tired, and would love to get a bike ride in today, but I just don’t have the energy. The Physics class kind of kicked my ass early on in the week. I’m caught up now, but still recovering from the sleep that I lost. 10:30 My throat is getting sore again. I swear, it has to be this place. I am so tired. I need one of those 12-hour kinds of sleeps. My boss has me going through another company’s files. Nothing secret or covert; we just want to use them as a baseline for how to do things. It is quite possibly the most boring thing I have ever done in my life. I’d rather listen to my beard grow, but with all of this construction going on, I can’t even hear myself think. 11:15 I just saw the strangest thing outside my window. I saw 4 people from the other company we share this building with doing what can only be described as “gang cross country skiing” without the snow. All 4 of them were without shoes, standing nut-to-butt on two planks, with 8 yellow nylon ropes attached to the planks where their feet are. Each of them was holding the ropes to pull the planks taunt to their feet, and they were walking together. This is my question: What the HELL are they doing???? 5:30 Off to school! Later, Rick
