Katie's made great strides

New Page 1

So, after all this time, I've actually come back to where it all started. RES6564 is back in action. Just a little history, but this was my original blog that I started over 3 years ago. I've done this to separate my political views from my personal life. I really should have done it ages ago. Perhaps now I won't be so conflicted as to what to write about. But you should still read my Political blog.... because I'M RIGHT.... and I KNOW IT ALL. ;)

Katie is well into her 7th month of ADD treatment. Her medication was spotty over the summer because she's not exactly the type that will take her medicine unless she is constantly reminded.

Nevertheless, we just got some interims and she is doing absolutely fantastic. She's getting B in Science, English, a C in social Studies, and (insert drum roll here)... an "A" in Math. (insert theme from Rocky here)

Cheryl and I have never seen her do so well. I asked Cheryl if she thinks that the Medicine is helping. She shrugged and said, "I don't know". That's her typical cop out answer. So then I asked, "Well, do you want to take her off of it?" Without batting an eye, she said, "NO!!!"

There are some other things that need to be taken into account:

  • Cheryl and I have remained very diligent with her,
  • She's been getting tutoring everyday at school.

My sons have been like wind up toys. I've never had any problem with either of them.... ever. Katie and the other hand is my parents revenge.

If you could ever believe it, I was a problem child. I got into terrible trouble when I was her age. When Cheryl was pregnant with Tom, I jokingly asked my Dad if he was going to curse me, in other words are you going to wish that I get a child just like me, to which he replied, "Oh, I think  that would be appropriate..." (Thanks Dad.) Being somewhat dismayed, I called and asked my Mom the same question, and she replied, "Oh Rick... I wouldn't wish that on anyone!" (Thanks... Mom)
